An Arab terrorist attempted to stab a security guard at the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem on Wednesday.
He was spotted sitting near the Gate, wearing what appeared to be camouflage.
Security forces recognized that the attacker seemed agitated, and immediately understood that something was odd; when they approached him to investigate, he pulled out a knife and tried to stab them.
The police reacted immediately and began firing at him, and he managed to escape and run toward another group of officers, who recognized that he was running from an attack, and opened fire at him - eliminating him on-site.
There were no injuries to bystanders during the attack.
The Gate has been cordoned off until further notice.
