Jerusalem's Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital has fired an Arab maintenance worker who expressed sympathy for a terrorist who was shot dead after perpetrating a stabbing attack in Jerusalem.

According to Kol Yisrael radio, the man in question had posted a status in support of Subhi Abu-Khalifa, who moderately wounded a haredi man in a stabbing attack last Thursday.

It follows identical action taken by the Israeli Pelephone cellphone company last week, which fired an employee for posting a photo on Facebook of another terrorist knifeman along with the words "martyr" and "my love."

Pelephone officials said in a public statement that the female Arab employee had been fired for refusing to remove the post after the company told her to in response to a deluge of complaints.

Israeli police meanwhile are cracking down on online incitement, which has helped fuel much of the violence over the past several weeks.

Over Shabbat, police arrested a 21-year-old Arab man in Akko, after social media posts in which he declared his desire to become a "martyr." Several recent terrorist attacks were preceded by similar posts from the attackers.

The suspect has been remanded for questioning.
