The Israel Police’s Jerusalem District decided Thursday to limit the entry into the Temple Mount Friday to Muslim men over 50. Muslim women of all ages will be allowed into the Mount for the Friday prayers.
The reason for the limitation is the intention of young Arabs to riot Friday.
The step is not an uncommon one and has been employed numerous times over the years, in times of tension.
Police will continue to fan out in large numbers in the eastern and western parts of the city.
Meanwhile, the Egged bus company announced that due to the security situation, some of its bus lines in the Binyamin region may not operate as scheduled. It apologized for the inconvenience and said it was holding discussions with the Transport Minister in the hope of restoring buses to normal operation as soon as possible.
