A female Arab terrorist stabbed and moderately wounded a Jewish man, aged 36, at the Lion's Gate in the Old City, on the eastern side of the Temple Mount, Wednesday morning. The man shot the terrorist, who is in serious condition.

Police sources said that the stabber sneaked up from behind the man and stabbed him near the neck. He turned around and shot her in self defense. She tried to run away but nearby Border Police gave chase, pounced on her and neutralized her.

Video from the Kotel (Western Wall) Plaza where the wounded were taken following the attack can be seen below.

Magen David Adom (MDA) medical teams and United Hatzalah volunteers initially gave the man and his attacker medical treatment at the site before later evacuating them to a hospital.

MDA paramedic Aharon Adler, who was at the scene, recalled that "in the alleys adjacent to the Lion's Gate a 36-year-old man was lying in moderate condition, stabbed in the upper body, and next to him lay the terrorist, a youth around 20-years-old in serious condition with gunshot wounds in her upper body."

"We gave the wounded initial medical treatment on the scene...and evacuated them to the Kotel Compound on a MDA all-terrain vehicle. There we attached it to an emergency treatment vehicle of MDA that evacuated the wounded to the hospital."
