Histadrut chairman Avi Nissenkorn, Minister Ofir Akunis (Likud) and Communications Ministry CEO Momo Filber arrived at an agreement on Sunday with regard to the Israel Broadcasting Authority.

According to the agreement, there will be no mass layoffs and the section of the bill regarding wage cuts will be removed entirely from the law approved Sunday by a special committee headed by MK Tzahi Hanegbi (Likud).

In return, Nissenkorn agreed to suspend all workers' strikes intended as part of a show of solidarity with the IBA employees.

The parties will also hold future negotiations regarding the scope and efficiency of the Israel Broadcasting Authority as well as the ability of its workers to be absorbed into the new public broadcasting corporation beyond the threshold of 25 percent.

Workers went on strike Sunday morning at Ben Gurion Airport, the Haifa and Ashdod seaports, all of Israel's border crossings, the Bailiff's Offices and more.

A total of 17 departures and 18 arrivals were affected by the two hour shut-down at Ben Gurion Airport causing heavy traffic on one of the airport's busiest days.
