Israel's Former Foreign Minister, Yisrael Beytenu Chairman Avigdor Liberman, has criticized the conduct of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, claiming that he is interfering with the power of the Foreign Ministry.

"This is a hard blow to our national security and Israel's ability to defend itself in the international arena," Liberman wrote on his Facebook page Saturday.

Liberman added that a meeting is being held on Monday over the "pogrom" Netanyahu has waged, in his words, on the Foreign Ministry, whose powers have been divided up between multiple ministers since the 20th Knesset elections.

"His moves came one by one and weakened, scattered and dispersed the Foreign Ministry into a body which lacks strength and lacks effectiveness," he said.

The former Foreign Minister also blasted Netanyahu, who is technically serving as Foreign Minister, for issuing no response to the "unprecedented" attack by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon on Israel following the arson attack on a Palestinian family in Duma, which has not yet conclusively been linked to Jewish perpetrators.

"This should turn on all the red lights for someone who understands the importance of the political status of Israel's security and the economy of our country," Liberman warned.

He said that September is expected to be saturated with political challenges for Israel in the international arena. In mid-April there will be a meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and there shall be a vote on a draft resolution of Egypt and other Arab and other Muslim countries on the supervision of Israel's nuclear facilities.

Liberman noted that the end of next month the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) will convene, which will also feature several hearings in the Security Council. He expressed concerns that the assembly will force Israel into an agreement with the Palestinian Authority (PA), or that the PA may become a full-fledged UN member.

"There is a great danger that this time the US will not impose a veto and this scenario will materialize," he stressed.
