Fifteen Jews have been killed in the Oslo War since Friday: A soldier in the Tul Karem battles on Friday; a soldier killed by accident while chasing a terrorist at the Kisufim Junction last night; a South African baby tourist in last night\'s Netanya attack, and an Israeli man killed by accident by policemen who shot the terrorists; and eleven killed in the Rehavia suicide blast in Jerusalem last night.
In Jerusalem last night, a suicide bomber blew himself up with a powerful explosive outside the Moment Cafe, between the Prime Minister\'s Residence and the Kings Hotel in the Rehavia neighborhood. Eleven people were murdered:
Lior Ben-Shoham, 27; Orit Ozorov, 28; Avraham Chaim Rachamim, 29; Livnat Dvash, 28; Dan Emuni, 23; and Tali Eliyahu, 26 - all of Jerusalem.
Danit Dagan, 24, Tel Aviv.
Uri Felix, 25, Givat Ze’ev.
Baruch Lerner, 29, Eli.
Nir Rachamim Borochov, 22, Givat Ze’ev.
Netanel Kochavi, 31, Kiryat Ata.
Seven of them were buried in consecutive funerals this afternoon at Har HaMenuchot in Jerusalem. These included Danit Dagan and Uri Felix, who were engaged to be married two months from now, but who instead were buried side-by-side.
In the coastal city Netanya last night, two terrorists entered a hotel lobby and began shooting. Nine-month-old Aviah Malka was killed, and her father, in the midst of a family visit to Israel, was seriously wounded. The baby was buried in Tel Aviv today. The terrorists ran to another hotel, where they were shot and killed by Border Guard policemen. Yihye Yisrael, 27, a Red Magen David volunteer medic from Bnei Brak, was also killed in that exchange of fire when the police mistook him for one of the terrorists.
Two soldiers, additional casualties of the Oslo War in separate incidents over the weekend, were also buried today. Sgt. Eduard Korol, who was felled by sniper fire in the battle in Tul Karem on Friday, was laid to rest in the military section of the Ashdod Cemetery this afternoon. The funeral of Elkanah Gobi, a hesder army soldier whose car was shot at by a terrorist last night outside Gush Katif, was held in N\'vei Dekalim. His parents were among the founders of N\'vei Dekalim. He and the other two occupants of the car got out to return fire to the terrorists, but soldiers in an army jeep that arrived on the scene thought he was the terrorist and ran him down. He died of his wounds en route to the hospital.
In Netzarim this morning, two Israelis were wounded when a terrorist undergoing a security check on his way to work in the town stabbed the local security coordinator and a guard. Both were operated on; one is in stable condition, while the other continues is still listed in serious condition... Terrorists shot at a car near Karnei Shomron this afternoon; no one was hurt... Of great concern to the security forces is a Kassam rocket that was fired towards the Sharon area on Friday - Netanya/Herzliya - and was found unexploded in a field...
Two attacks in Jerusalem were averted this afternoon. In one case, the security forces knew of a car bomb - or a car carrying several suicide terrorists - on its way to Jerusalem from Jabal Mukaber, southeast of the capital, and blew it up with a precisely-aimed rocket strike. In northern Jerusalem, a suspicious man carrying a case was seen trying to detour a checkpoint. The soldiers called to him to stop, opened fire, and mortally wounded him; a rifle was found in his bag.
