MK Motti Yogev (Jewish Home) is convinced Israel will stop the anti-Israel 'Freedom Flotilla III' from approaching Gaza, he stated to Arutz Sheva on Sunday morning - through a two-pronged approach to Israel vis-a-vis Gaza.

"We must act on two levels, first of all on the conscious level [to improve] public relations, to explain to the world that this will not work and that it is terrorism and terrorists, not Israel, which necessitates the blockade on Gaza," he said. "Israel is ready to send everything humanitarian [to Gazans], including goods and cement - despite the fact that concrete is dually useful [i.e. for rebuilding homes or terror tunnels - ed.]  and certainly fruits and vegetables; if Gaza were demilitarized, these things could come and go freely."

"But beyond that, on an operational level, Israel will find a way not to allow ships to approach Gaza," he added.

According to him, Israel must examine whether the planned presence of MK Basel Ghattas (Joint Arab List) on the flotilla is legal. Many Israeli lawmakers have called for MK Ghattas's parliamentary immunity to be removed in response to his decision to join the flotilla.

Either way, according to Yogev, "his presence as part of the terror flotilla is negative, whether or not it is illegal - and it should be reviewed by the Attorney General [Yehuda Weinstein]."
