Residents of Horfesh, in the Galilee, attacked a military ambulance that passed near their town Sunday night. The vehicle was carrying two people who were wounded in the Syrian civil war to a hospital.

The Druze suspected that the casualties were jihadists, who were fighting their Druze brethren in Syria.

They tried to block the path of the ambulance in order to check who was inside. The driver managed to escape but the Druze hurled rocks at the vehicle and tried to follow it. One of the Druze was hit by the ambulance and required hospitalization.

The ambulance drove to the Maalot police station and received a police escort before it drove to the hospital at Nahariya.

There is a mix of rebel troops on the Syrian side of the Israeli border, including the Syrian Free Army, as well as the jihadist al-Nusra Front and some units from ISIS. Al-Nusra and especially ISIS, worry Israel's Druze, because the two Sunni militias consider the Druze, an offshoot of Shiite Islam, as infidels.
