Hebrew University in Jerusalem believes in presenting both sides - even during wartime. PA official Sari Nusseibeh lectured there yesterday, and Saeb Erekat was scheduled to speak there today. The Professors for a Strong Israel asked that Prime Minister Sharon take action to have the event canceled, and Kach activists said they would \"use all means\" to thwart the event. \"Lavi\" student cell chairman Yehuda Halfon told Arutz-7 this afternoon,

\"This is a ridiculous situation, where an institution receives funding from the government that decided that these very people whom they wish to invite are irrelevant and are representatives of a terrorism-sponsoring authority… We don\'t plan to fight with police, but we will do whatever we can to make sure that he doesn\'t even enter the University. If the police plan to protect him, let them remember that he is responsible in one way or another for sending men to harm other policemen… If Erekat somehow manages to be snuck in, then we have ways of making sure from within the lecture hall itself that the lecture does not take place.\"

Later this afternoon, Erekat abruptly informed the University that he would not be appearing.
