The town of Rishon LeTzion lost eight people in the terrorism of the past two days. Chief Rabbi Yosef Azran told Arutz-7 today,
\"We had seven funerals yesterday, including five children, a whole family, a 15-year-old tzaddik (righteous person) - he studied in our yeshiva… I am still blurry and shocked from the experience; I still do not fathom the idea of seeing seven bodies, five of them children, laid out in a row - the senses simply stop working... \" Rabbi Azran praised the mourners: \"They are all G-d fearing families, and know that everything is from the Creator. The body can be lost, but the soul remains... Some of the parents were so strong that they comforted us…\" He bemoaned our spiritual state: \"We apparently have many sins, such that the aspect of judgment is so strong that although the Torah commands us not to take a mother bird along with her little ones, and not to slaughter an animal and his offspring on the same day, in this case a mother was taken at the same time as her daughters, and a father and son were taken on the same day…\"
