Several outstanding Israeli religious community figures were awarded the Barkai Prize in the city of Modiin Monday evening.

Prizes included one for "Outstanding Gabbai", which was awarded to the gabbai (Hebrew for sexton) of the Talmud Torah synagogue in Kiryat Tiv'on.

The Lifetime Achievement award was handed to Rabbi Avichai Katzin, who heads both the Adath Bnei Yisrael and Olamim congregations in Raanana.

The Outstanding Community award was given to Kibbutz Sa'ad.
