Middle East Newsline (MENL) reports that Hamas is working on developing a chemical warhead for its Kassam-class short-range rocket. Quoting Palestinian sources, MENL says that the Hamas terrorist movement, which has designed several versions of the Kassam, has been working on developing a chemical warhead for the Kassam for more than 18 months. Israeli intelligence officials said they are taking the Hamas claims seriously, although they have not yet seen evidence that the Islamic insurgents have succeeded in their non-conventional weapon efforts.
