MK Danny Danon (Likud) on Tuesday night welcomed the emerging results of the 2015 elections, according to the exit polls, and expressed hope that a nationalist government headed by the Likud will be formed.
“The Likudniks came home," Danon told Arutz Sheva as exit polls showed that his party won 27 or 28 seats. “We will head the next government with our natural partners in the nationalist camp.”
The leftist organizations that teamed up against the Likud failed in their mission, he added. “The public understood that it must not give the keys to the left in Israel. I'm happy about these results and am sure we will establish a nationalist government that is good for Israel,” said Danon.
He expressed regret that the Yachad party, headed by Eli Yishai, might not pass the the threshold, though some exit polls have it entering the Knesset with four seats. “Perhaps later Eli Yishai will get in and help the nationalist camp. We'll wait for the final results.”
“It was not an easy battle, we saw bad money being invested in illegal ways across the country. The feeling now is very good after the great pressure we were in last week,” said Danon.
