The 73-day \"strike\" of the handicapped population in Israel is over. Although the strikers don\'t plan to leave their squatters\' headquarters in the Ministry of Labor in Jerusalem until after the Cabinet ratifies the agreement on Sunday, they express great satisfaction with their \"victory.\" About 1/3 of the disabled will receive immediate 300-shekel increases to their monthly allowances, the allowances will continue to be paid even after age 65, among other achievements. A leading handicapped representative said that the main achievement is the establishment of a committee that will look into their remaining demands.
