Arutz Sheva was on hand at the Theresienstadt death camp Tuesday as survivors and locals, as well as well-known figures like actor Sir Ben Kingsley and former Ashkenazic Chief Rabbi of Israel and Holocaust survivor Rabbi Meir Lau, took part in a special memorial on International Holocaust Memorial Day.
The day of remembrance saw the commemoration of the horrific tragedy world wide, on the day of the liberation of the remaining survivors of the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp in Poland.
The memorial was the culmination of the fourth International “Let My People Live!” Forum which was held in Prauge, with the participation of European leaders and representatives of Jewish organizations, as well as Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein.
The conference was organized by the Czech government together with the European Jewish Congress.
