The Central Command of the Israel Defense Forces is in the process of developing a new defense plan for the communities of Judea and Samaria, based on the participation of armed residents in times of emergency. A similar model was successfully implemented in the north. Central Commander Maj.-Gen. Yitzchak Eitan presented the plan last night to Yesha leaders, who expressed their satisfaction. Yesha Council spokesman Yehoshua Mor-Yosef said that the residents will be armed and trained to defend their community in the event of an attack. The plan will be tried out first in one town, and will continue in accordance with the results.
