Even after MK Tzipi Hotovely was named as the candidate in the #20 spot on the Likud’s Knesset list, the saga continued on Tuesday.

Hotovely replaced Avi Dichter, originally slated for the #20 spot, and who was bumped to a less-realistic 26th place.

Dichter filed an appeal within the Likud court, but the court failed to reach a decision on the matter on Tuesday. Court head Michael Kleiner announced that another discussion on the issue will take place later in the week, but suggested that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu intervene and cancel the reserved #11 spot on the list, which is being held for a candidate of Netanyahu’s choice, thus allowing both Hotovely and Dichter realistic spots and ending the saga.

Kleiner further warned that unless a compromise is reached, he would consider ordering a recount of all the polling stations in the primaries, thus causing much embarrassment to the party.

Last week, Dichter fired that, in his view, several polling stations across the country "suffered from many serious flaws, bordering on criminal, that have cast a terrible stain on the entire movement. I can't accept this position until these flaws are sorted out."

According to Dichter, at one of the polling stations in Jerusalem, "double envelopes cast by 700 residents of Judea and Samaria were counted tightening the gap between Dichter and Hotovely from 754 to 55 votes."

These results, Dichter argued in his appeal, "are criminal. We're speaking about envelopes brought in the day after elections by foreign entities, who have an interest in influencing the election."
