The General Security Service (GSS) has apprehended the Arab terrorist who planted the bomb in Netanya last week, an explosive that was detonated by police sappers before it was able to do any damage. In the course of his questioning, the terrorist, Abdul Rachaman Fouda, admitted to being a member of the Palestinian Authority \"navy.\" Itim news agency reports that Fouda is a resident of PA-controlled Tulkarm and that he was arrested during a police \"combing\" of the vicinity of the attempted attack. While under interrogation, Fouda provided the name of another prominent PA figure - Imad Bilbali - who holds the rank of \"Colonel\" in the PA navy. Bilbali, was subsequently captured by Israeli security agents; he has reportedly played a prominent role in several other terrorist attacks in recent months.
This morning, the GSS released three PLO \"Force 17\" suspects apprehended by IDF forces on Saturday night, explaining that the three were not involved in specific attacks. The other suspects remain in Israeli custody. Yesterday, the Tel Aviv District Court convicted Jordanian citizen Abdullah Abu Jaber for the December 28, 2000 bombing attack on a Number 51 bus on Derech Petach Tikvah in Tel Aviv. Thirteen people were injured in that attack.
