Arab terrorists murdered 56-year-old Beit Shemesh resident Valerie Achmir at approximately 4:00 PM on Friday afternoon as he was traveling alone in his car between the Atarot industrial park and Givat Ze’ev, north of Jerusalem. Several Arabs opened fire on Achmir s vehicle from a passing car, severely wounding him in the head. His car then collided with a security rail on the side of the road and flipped over. A Hatzolah emergency medical unit arrived on the scene but could not save Achmir’s life. IDF soldiers and police officers carried out a thorough search in an effort to locate the terrorists, believing that they fled for safe refuge in the PLO-controlled town of Ramallah. No arrests have yet been made. Several other Israelis have been murdered on that same road since Arafat launched his Oslo War against Israel 18 months ago.

Also on Friday afternoon an Israeli civilian sustained moderate to serious injuries when he was mistakenly shot by IDF troops north of Hevron. The incident occurred after Arabs lying in ambush opened fire on the Israeli’s car. The driver of the vehicle returned fire in the direction of the shots and intended to continue on his journey from Kiryat Arba to Jerusalem. However, IDF soldiers manning a nearby roadblock thought that they were under attack and fired at the Israeli’s car hitting the driver. His wife and two children were in the car as well and suffered from shock as a result of the incident. IDF forces searched for the Arab gunmen who fired the first shots and have launched an investigation into the incident.
