Some 900 new olim (immigrants) living at Jewish Agency absorption centers in Hadera, Ra’anana, Kfar Sava, Ashdod, Jerusalem, and Mevaseret Zion traveled throughout Israel\'s northern border area, bringing the soldiers stationed there mishloach manot (food packages) for Purim. The olim were hosted and taken on tours of the area by soldiers of the 7th Regiment. The program is aimed at familiarizing the immigrants with Jewish traditions and strengthening ties between the IDF and the olim, both of which give a boost to their integration into Israeli society.
