MKs from the hareidi United Torah Judaism party welcomed on Monday evening the dissolution of the Knesset, after MKs voted 93:0 to disband the Knesset, paving the way for elections to be held on March 17.
"The 19th Knesset will be remembered as the worst one in the country's history, due to the failure of the government in all areas: an economic collapse, loss of vision in terms of housing, cost of living and the continuous attacks on the middle class," said MK Ya’akov Litzman.
MK Menachem Eliezer Moses agreed with his colleague, saying, "The rule of evil has come to an end. There is not one area where the government acted in the interest of the public. We can only welcome the dissolution of the Knesset and the dismantling of government.”
MK Meir Porush said that "the worst coalition for hareidim was disbanded this evening with the dissolution of the Knesset. United Torah Judaism is determined to make a fundamental change, and restore the honor of the Torah and those who study it.”
MK Moshe Gafni said that “the worst government in Israel's history is no more.”
“The last government harmed all areas of life and all citizens, the economic and social situation is deteriorating by the day over the past two years, they hurt the economy, Israel's credit rating and in all economic issues such as layoffs, as the Minister of Finance was without any experience and harmed all areas of the economy and society,” Gafni continued, adding, “Even the diplomatic situation deteriorated and Israel is isolated in many countries and got into unnecessary confrontations with the United States.”
Gafni claimed that "there was not one thing that this government has done for the benefit of the public, but on the contrary. The government even harmed Judaism and we thank G-d that this bad government has passed from the world and hope that with G-d’s help the next government will be better for the benefit of the general public.”
