Close to 100 European rabbis took part in the First European Halakhic [Jewish Legal] Seminar in Milan, Italy, last week. Sponsored by the Rabbinical Center of Europe and the Orthodox Union, and with a grant from the European Commission, the seminar featured lectures by world-renowned rabbis on a variety of halakhic topics, with special emphasis on Kashrut, the construction and supervision of Mikvaot, and other contemporary issues. Participants included Israel\'s Chief Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau, as well as the Chief Rabbis of Russia, Rome, Bnei Brak, other Israeli and European cities, and rabbis from the U.S.
