Late this morning, Border Guard policeman Ahmed Mazrib, 31, of the Galilee village of Beit Zarzir, will be laid to rest in his hometown cemetery. He is credited with having saved the lives of many Jerusalemites when he stopped a suspicious car yesterday afternoon that was on its way to a carbomb attack. Mazrib and another policeman, after checking the license number and seeing that the vehicle had been stolen several weeks before, began following it. At one point, after the chase had ended, Mazrib went to check the car, and the driver somehow detonated the very powerful explosives that were inside. Both the terrorist and Policeman Mazrib were killed on the spot. Had the powerful bomb blown up on a Jerusalem street, many lives could have been lost.
