Kerry Blames Israel for ISIS?

US Secretary of State John Kerry sparked outrage Friday after making comments in which he apparently blamed the lack of Israeli concessions towards the Palestinian Authority for the rise of the Islamic State terrorist group, also known as ISIS or ISIL.

Leading the sharp criticism against Kerry were Economics Minister Naftali Bennett, and Communications Minister Gilad Erdan - the latter of whom said Kerry had "broken the record of misunderstanding" the Middle East.

US State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf responded to the furor Friday night insisting that Kerry "did not make any linkage between Israel and the growth of ISIL, period."

Israel's First Female Religious Air Force Navigator Among Dead in Nepal

One of at least three Israelis killed in a deadly avalanche in Nepal has been identified as Lt. Tamar Ariel, 25, who made history when she became the Israeli Air Forces's first religious woman navigator in 2012.

Agam Luria, 23, and Nadav Shoham were also killed.

In total, 39 people have been confirmed dead in the disaster,and 36 Israelis are still missing.

Syrian Rebel Attack Tunnels Raises Fear of Hezbollah Threat

Islamist rebels in Syria have showcased their deadly use of underground tunnels - reminiscent of those used by Hamas against Israel - against pro-regime forces. The incident has further raised fears that Hezbollah may use the same techniques along Israel's northern border.

ISIS Raising an Air Force?

Former Iraqi army pilots are reportedly training ISIS terrorists to fly captured Syrian jets.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said witnesses in northern Syria have seen the group flying the three MiG 21 or MiG 23 model jets above the al-Jarrah airbase east of Aleppo, in the first instance of ISIS going airborne.

UK Student Body Condemns Israel - But Not ISIS

In other ISIS-related news, Britain's National Union of students has rejected a motion condemning the jihadi group, citing fears the motion could "fuel Islamophobia."

The rejection, which provoked protests by some student activists, is all the more shocking given that the NUS only recently accepted an aggressive motion condemning Israel and targeting the Jewish state with boycotts.

Fewer Israelis Than Ever Leaving for the Diaspora

Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics has revealed that the rate of emigration from the Jewish state in 2012 was the lowest since Israel was established in 1948, with an emigration rate that is low even in comparison to other OECD countries.
