MK Alex Miller (Yisrael Beytenu) attacked MK Ahmed Tibi (Balad) on Monday, accusing the latter of being a "puppet" for the Palestinian Authority (PA) for flying to London to urge the British parliament to recognize "Palestine."

"[PA Chairman] Mahmoud Abbas himself, using puppets as Ahmed Tibi, is trying to deceive whole countries in an attempt to force the State of Israel on a one-sided track to establish the State of Palestine," Miller stated. "But it is clear that this foolish conduct will only prolong the possibility of a future agreement and will not achieve anything substantial."

Reports of Tibi's diplomatic mission to lobby the "Palestinian cause" among British Labour Party MPs infuriated the political machine and the public earlier Monday, amid high tensions over the British vote.

The British vote comes after Sweden made a storm by pledging its commitment to recognize a Palestinian state two weeks ago on the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur.

Israeli experts have warned the UK vote may be a sign of increasing diplomatic warfare against Israel in Europe.

International snowballing?

But tensions are even higher after the international donor conference in Cairo in support of Gaza finished Sunday, which raised $5.4 billion for Hamas despite "donor fatigue."

Miller slammed the bid for international legitimacy through finances as well, noting sardonically that Abbas's pleas for recognition are the one thing he does well - and at a price.

"What is certain is that Abbas was able to do one thing, and that's to spend no small amount on the bill of the poverty-stricken Gazans," he fired.

Abbas's push has already garnered some international support, particularly from Russia, as he threatened Israel with trial in the International Criminal Court if Jerusalem does not withdraw from Judea and Samaria.

Meanwhile, Hamas officials have already stated that the conference is a means of"proving" that war works in the "struggle against the Israeli entity," and have hailed the conference as a victory in the PR war against Israel.
