Despite ever-present terrorism warnings, PLO officials continue to enjoy diplomatic immunity at IDF checkpoints. Chezky, a resident of a Yesha community in Binyamin, told Arutz-7\'s Uzi Baruch today that his brother, a reserve soldier currently serving at a northern-Ramallah checkpoint, cannot speak to reporters, and so he [Chezky] will speak for him. His words speak for themselves:

\"My brother called me and expressed his astonishment at what is going on at his post… He has orders not to check senior leaders of the Palestinian Authority as they drive by the checkpoint. Specifically, in the past few days, Saeb Erekat passed by twice, and the orders that the soldiers received from the Battalion center were to let him pass without checking more than his ID card… Abu Ala passed through a few days ago, and when the soldiers wanted to check in his trunk, he simply did not let them, and he was very nervous. It could very well be that he had something to hide in his car. The soldiers asked their superiors what to do, and the orders they received were not to check and to let him through. This is all going on while very \'hot\' intelligence warnings of impending attacks are being received all the time in this area…\"

The IDF Spokesman has not yet responded to these charges.
