Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon on Monday visited soldiers wounded during Operation Protective Edge. Ya'alon visited soldiers who are hospitalized Levinstein Rehabilitation Hospital and wished them a good New Year. The hospital, located in Ra'anana, is one of the IDF's premier rehabilitation facilities.

During his defense minister toured the different departments. Defense Minister was accompanied by the director of the hospital, Professor Amiram Katz, and his staff.

Speaking during the visit, Ya'alon said that he had been visiting the hospital “since I was a battalion commander, and I have met with many soldiers and victims of terrorism who are undergoing rehabilitation. Sacred work here is being done here. I meet those undergoing treatment here, and afterwards I meet them outside the hospital. Thanks to the dedication of the staff here, their lives change for the better.”

Ya'alon gave encouragement to soldiers with whom he visited, telling them to take it easy.

"You have to let the doctors do their work, and that takes time,” he said. “The New Year which we are entering poses many challenges, and the entire system stands beside you to help you get through them,” he told soldiers.

Levinstein hospital director Professor Amiram Katz thanked Ya'alon for his efforts. Ya'alon, he said, “has a deep personal relationship with many of the IDF's wounded soldiers,” which showed how concerned he was for each and every soldier.
