The firing of Kassam rockets, which Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer and other officials warned would be greeted with a severe Israeli response, has become a matter of course. Palestinian terrorists fired a Kassam-1 last night at an IDF command post in northern Gaza\'s Nisanit, while the much more far-reaching and powerful Kassam-2 was fired towards Kibbutz Kfar Aza, well within pre-1967 Israel. No one was hurt.
The murderous attack last night in Karnei Shomron was the first of its type in a shopping center in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza. However, the terrorists did not rest on their laurels, and shortly afterwards attempted another attack against Givat Har\'el, just between Shilo and Ma\'aleh Levonah and some 20 kilometers north of Beit El. The terrorist cell shot automatic fire at the homes from a hilltop overlooking the neighborhood, and escaped by car. Miraculously, no one was hurt.
