Chabad (Lubavitch) and its rich, 300-year-old treasure house of music will be on display in a unique philharmonic experience to be performed in New York City on March 10. The Chabad Centennial Symphony and Celebration will take the form of a musical journey spanning three centuries of Chabad musical masterworks performed by a full philharmonic orchestra. The one-time performance will showcase over 30 songs, arranged in seven thematic suites orchestrated and conducted by the renowned Yisroel Lamm. Avraham Fried and the Russian folk group Nikolayev Cappelia will sing some of the pieces. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Jewish Learning Group, a Brooklyn-based organization serving the educational needs of Jewish people recommitting to observant Judaism.
