Voice of Israel public radio reported Tuesday that the administration at Haifa's Technion university is considering disiplinary measure against an Arab medical student from northern Israel who posted a celebratory status to Facebook after the bodies of three Jewish teenagers were found Monday.

The student wrote: “3 goals for Palestine without taking part in the World Cup,” along with the photos of the three murdered youths.

Prof. Peretz Lavie, President of the Technion, called the post “lowdown and disgusting” and said it had no place in human discourse.

"It is incumbent upon us to denounce statements like this which have no place within the human discourse. For that reason we have determined to examine the incident in depth and take adequate and firm steps against the author of the status."

The Student Union at the Technion also issued a sharp condemnation of the post.
