Two more voices joined the chorus of opposition to Prime Minister Sharon\'s limited response to increasing Palestinian terrorism. Brig.-Gen. (res.) Effie Eitam said this morning that he had rejected Sharon\'s offer to head the Anti-Terrorism Task Force, because \"what is needed now is not a Terrorism Advisor but a War against Terrorism.\" He said that if Ariel Sharon does not wage war against the Palestinians, \"he will soon become just the latest Israeli Prime Minister to be booted out of office by Yasser Arafat.\" Eitam says that the Palestinian Authority leadership should be tried for war crimes, and that Israel should take over extensive PA-controlled areas.
Former Chief of Staff Dan Shomron also criticized this morning the lack of Israeli response to the Kassam rockets and recent fatal attacks.
