The Knesset held a festive session this afternoon to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the voluntary medical organization Yad Sarah. MKs from across the political spectrum paid tribute to the broad-ranging activities of Yad Sarah over the years. MK Collete Avital said that more than half of Israel\'s citizens had borrowed medical equipment from the organization over the years, or had availed themselves of other Yad Sarah services. The government of Iran has rejected the appointment of England\'s designated ambassador to Tehran, David Reddaway, claiming that Reddaway is a Jewish spy. Reddaway served in the past as a diplomat in Tehran, and is in fact married to an Iranian woman. Diplomatic sources in London told JTA that Reddaway is not Jewish and has never served as a British agent. Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) has reported a record high of $2.884 billion in 2001 for new order contracts worldwide. This represents an increase of 11% in new business from the year 2000. Mr. Moshe Keret, IAI’s President and CEO, says, “Despite economic strains and security hardships in Israel, IAI has met its marketing goals.\" IAI’s globalization policy was successful in obtaining new contracts in North America, Asia, Europe, and in Israel as well.
