The IDF has confirmed that the rockets launched yesterday from a PLO area in Gaza were in fact the feared Kassam-2 rockets. One of them landed not far from the Negev desert\'s Kibbutz Saad, and another landed close by in a moshav (communal farming community) called Shuva. This was the first time that the homemade Palestinian rockets were launched against Israeli targets. The range of the Kassam-2 is assumed to be at least 8 kilometers (5 miles), such that from points in Judea and Samaria, Jerusalem, Kfar Sava, Hadera, Afula and other cities would be within range.
