The IDF has confirmed that the rockets launched yesterday from a PLO area in Gaza were in fact the feared Kassam-2 rockets. One of them landed not far from the Negev desert\'s Kibbutz Saad, and another landed in the moshav (communal farming community) Shuva. This was the first time that the homemade Palestinian rockets were launched against Israeli targets. The range of the Kassam-2 is approximately 3-6 miles, such that if fired from points in Judea and Samaria, they could hit many cities including Jerusalem, Kfar Sava, Hadera, and Afula. IDF security officials say that the rockets are now deployed in the PLOcontrolled cities of Tul Karem, Kalkilya, Bethlehem, and Jenin, and are ready to be launched in most cases.
