A Tel Aviv University survey conducted by the Tami Steinmetz Institute for Peace found that 79% of the overall Jewish public fairly or greatly opposes the refusal of IDF reservists to serve in Judea and Samaria as a means of protest against government policy. Only 15% support the legitimacy of such a step. The letter signed by a number of IDF reservists recently published opposed Israel\'s presence in Judea and Samaria, and they therefore refused to serve there. Segmentation of responses according to Knesset voting revealed that a sweeping majority of Likud voters (86%) oppose the refusal to serve. The percentage is also very high in the left: 80% of Labor voters and 70% of Meretz voters oppose the refusal to serve.
