IDF soldiers were forced to shoot two Palestinian Arab rioters near the Gaza border fence late Friday, according to AFP, after they attempted to infiltrate Israel.
"Ten Palestinians rioted adjacent to the security fence in the northern Gaza Strip," an IDF spokesperson told the news outlet. "Two instigators attempted to climb over the security fence."
"After they failed to comply with the soldiers' calls to stop, the soldiers fired towards their legs, identifying hits," the spokesperson continued.
The wounded are victims of the weekly Friday provocation, where Arab extremists riot near the border fence and attack security forces with rocks.
These clashes are common on Fridays, when Arabs hold regular protests near the border in support of Gaza farmers who claim Israeli troops uprooted their trees to create a buffer zone.
