The student union at at Windsor University, in Ontario, has voted in favor of a comprehensive boycott on Israel. A similar decision has been made in other Canadian universities in the recent past.

According to Shalom Toronto, the decision was reached in a student referendum held Saturday, a week before the start of “Israel Apartheid Week.” A total of 798 students voted in favor of a comprehensive boycott of Israel, while 585 opposed it.

In November, the student union at Toronto University's Scarborough Campus reportedly voted, in the annual assembly, to mark “Israel Apartheid Week” on campus.

The drift of opinion in the anti-Israel direction continued this year in Canada's universities, where many are now expressing full identification with the Palestinian side and a de facto negation of Israel's existence as the state of the Jewish people. The student union of the University of Toronto's Mississauga Campus, as well the universities at York, Regina and Carlton, ratified with overwhelming majorities decisions to place a full boycott (BDS – boycott, divestment and sanctions) on Israel.
