The Knesset deliberations on the budget for the year 2002 - already delayed by over a month, but beginning to near its final stages - were further delayed today in the Knesset Finance Committee. Committee Chairman Yaakov Litzman (United Torah Judaism) explained that the Finance Ministry omitted the allocations for yeshivot from the basic budget. Ministry officials said that this was done inadvertently and made the adjustment. Prime Minister Sharon and Finance Minister Shalom hope to have the budget passed by the end of the week.
