A 27-year-old man who drowned to death last Friday in the Givat HaDagan neighborhood of Efrat in Judea has been identified as Moshe Lapid. Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics were unable to save Lapid after he fell into a water well.
MDA paramedic Issa Diwat said "when we arrived we saw a small water pool, with a 27-year-old youth lying next to the pool after being pulled out by a passerby who noticed him. He was unconscious, not breathing and without a pulse."
"Aided by MDA medics that arrived to the scene we gave him medical treatment and advanced and continued resuscitation; in the end we were forced to pronounce him dead," reports Diwat.
Judea and Samaria police announced that an investigation revealed no suspicion of criminal activity in the young man's death.
The death is the second tragedy for the family.
On June 12, 1993, terrorists opened fire on a car in Givat Harsina in Hevron, killing 56-year-old Mordechai Lapid, Moshe's father, and his brother Shalom Lapid. Mordechai left behind his wife Miriam and 13 children, 3 of whom were injured in the terror attack.
"Moshe was a wonderful and gentle kid," said Moriya, the drowned man's former sister-in-law. "He had the soul of an artist and loved music and being with friends, and was very close to his brothers."
Moshe's funeral will take place on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Yavne'el near Lake Kinneret.
