A 27-year-old man died on Friday afternoon after drowning in a water well near the Givat HaDagan neighborhood in the city of Efrat in Gush Etzion.

Magen David Adom paramedics who were called to the scene pulled the man’s body and tried to resuscitate him but were unsuccessful and pronounced him dead.

In June of 2013, Hillel Rudich, a 32-year-old father of three was killed after he fell into a water well in Gush Etzion.

Rudich and his three children were visiting an archaeological site near the community of Tekoa when the ball with which the children were playing fell into the well. Rudish tried to pull a play ball out of the well, but lost his footing and fell in.

Friday afternoon’s tragedy came after several road accidents claimed victims overnight Thursday. An 18-year-old was killed after being hit by a car at the Masmiya junction near the southern Israeli city of Kiryat Malachi.

In another accident overnight, a pedestrian in his 20s suffered serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Ness Ziona, a city in central Israel.
