Ultra-leftist newspaper Haaretz, which regularly features unbridled attacks on Jewish nationalists, outdid itself this week when columnist Uri Misgav called ex-MK Michael Ben-Ari a “Judeo Nazi.” The editors went so far as to illustrate the article with a photograph of Ben-Ari making a gesture that resembles a Nazi salute, because of the angle it was taken from.
Misgav wrote that the “campaign of incitement” against a teacher who forced his ultraleftist views on students “was executed forcefully with the help of former MK Ben-Ari, a member of the Kahanist Otzma Leyisrael party, which epitomizes the Judeo-Nazi stream whose future existence was predicted accurately by Profesor Yeshayahu Leibowitz more than 40 years ago.”
Ben-Ari reacted gleefully to the article and photograph on Facebook Thursday, and wrote: "Haaretz is inciting against me!”
"As part of the campaign of sympathy for the teacher who shouts 'viva Palestine!', the editor put up a picture of me that contains hints that are just what you'd expect from them and their terrorist friends.
"It turns out that a person who hugs child murderers is their hero, on the condition that he murdered Jewish children...”
"I'm happy that I disturb them,” he wrote. “They will not deter us from fighting against the people who attempt to dismantle the Jewish state.”
A poll published this week found that if elections were held today, the Otzma Leyisrael party headed by Prof. Aryeh Eldad and Ben Ari would enter the Knesset with 3 mandates.
