The precedent-setting Supreme Court decision to forbid exclusively-Jewish towns has some qualifications. The original decision, one year ago, allowed the Kadan family of the Arab village of Baka el-Garbiye to be allocated land in the Jewish town of Katzir. The Supreme Court now says, however, that the Arab family must first be accepted into the town after undergoing the same acceptance procedure that every other family must. The Court ordered Katzir to complete the process within two months. If the town rejects the Arab family, it will have to explain why to the Court.
