The Pakistani kidnappers of American journalist Daniel Perl have extended their deadline by 24 hours. They threaten to kill Perl if the Americans don\'t release Pakistani Taliban and Al-Qaida prisoners. U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell said, \"We do not intend to negotiate with the kidnappers about their demands.\" Perl, of the Wall Street Journal, disappeared ten days ago in Pakistan after he set off to interview an Islamic Movement leader. The kidnappers have also threatened to kill any American journalist who enters Pakistan, and to begin a \"real war on the U.S. so that it can taste the destruction that we have tasted.\" Perl\'s wife, who is pregnant, made a public call to the kidnappers to release her husband, saying, \"By killing him, you will gain nothing.\"
