Opposition Head and Labor Chairwoman, MK Shelly Yachimovich, said Thursday that Israelis should pay attention to US Secretary of State John Kerry, when he warns of the consequences of failure of “peace talks.”

"Secretary of State Kerry has sounded the warning bell and placed before Israel the danger in continued stalemate,” Yachimovich said.

"It is completely obvious that the success of the talks is an clear-cut Israeli interest, otherwise we will find ourselves in international isolation and facing a danger of renewed violence,” she opined.

"When these things are said explicitly from the mouth of the American Secretary of State," she continued, "there is no doubt that they should be taken into consideration. It is completely clear that the talks are difficult, and not every Palestinian position is one that Israel must accept, but it is clear, too, that the prime minister must take brave decision in order to break the stalemate – because this is, as I stress again, a clear Israeli interest.”

"Failure of the talks will increase Israel's isolation in the world,” Kerry said Thursday. “The alternative to getting back to the talks is a potential of chaos. I mean, does Israel want a third intifada?”
