Two people were killed and several were injured in a serious car crash that occurred late on Wednesday night in the Dead Sea area.

A 40-year-old man and 10-year-old girl were killed in the accident. Their identities have not yet been made public.

Two young men in their early 20s were seriously injured in the collision, and a 30-year-old woman, 14-year-old girl and 12-year-old girl suffered moderate injuries.

The two men with serious injuries were airlifted to Hadassah Ein Karem hospital in Jerusalem. A section of Highway 90 was temporarily shut down in wake of the crash.

Paramedic Yehuda Amitai of the emergency response service Ichud Hatzalah was on the scene. He reported that the crash involved three different vehicles, one of which flew off the road as a result of the collision.

On Wednesday morning, 20-year-old Lir Amran of Hadera was killed when she was hit by a taxi as she rode her bike along the shoulder of Highway 65.
