Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu spoke during the weekly Cabinet meeting Sunday and shared his reaction to the terror attack the night before in which a terrorist shot 9-year-old Noam Glick at close range.

"The Israeli Government is treating the terrorist attack on the 9-year-old girl from Psagot very seriously. We are not at all pleased that our security and defense measures did not prevent this, during the calmest year in over a decade in terror attacks."

"We have identified an increase in terror attacks lately, and I must say, as long as their media incitement continues, the Palestinian Authority can not absolve themselves of responsibility for these events."

Netanyahu stressed that nothing will help the various inciters and murderers, because "we are here and we are here to stay."

"From the Government's office, I wish a complete and speedy recovery to little Noam, and extend my support to her family. We are all praying for peace and we support all of the residents of Psagot."

President Shimon Peres also addressed the terrorist attack which occurred Saturday evening in Psagot. In a statement to the press at the President's Residence he said, "Firstly, I want to wish a full and speedy recovery to Noam. There is no doubt that she is a victim of a terrorist attack."

"We have not yet found the perpetrator and are still searching. Any act of terrorism is shocking but I'm especially saddened when the victim is an innocent little girl who was at home," Peres stated. "I felt it was right to express my personal shock and of course we all await the results of the security investigation into this difficult incident. Until then I wish Noam a full and speedy recovery."

Noam's father, Israel Glick, spoke with President Shimon Peres on the phone. Peres told him, "Please tell Noam that I wish her well, a full recovery and my empathy for the suffering she is experiencing."

President Peres spoke to Israel Glick about how he was, about Noam's condition and about the incident itself. The father thanked President Peres for his warm words and said, "Noam is recovering and we hope that she returns to herself soon." He then told President Peres about the incident and said, "We tried to act in the best way we could and we hope to return to our regular life soon."
