Jerusalem's mayor, Nir Barkat, has spoken to Arutz Sheva following the bi-annual "birkat kohanim" or priestly blessings at the Kotel (Western Wall) in Israel's capital city, which took place this morning (Sunday).
The birkat kohanim is "one of the most amazing experiences one can have," he said, and called on Jews around the world to visit Jerusalem to experience it for themselves.
The masses of Jews praying in unity in Israel's capital city is "something we prayed for for thousands of years."
"Our fathers only dreamed about coming to Jerusalem and praying by the Western Wall," he continued, adding that "nobody should take it for granted."
The Western Wall is one of the retaining walls of the Temple Mount - Judaism's holiest site and the place where the two holy Temples of Israel once stood.
