Minister Danny Naveh (Likud) says that he has amassed a majority of Knesset Members who object to Knesset Speaker Avraham Burg\'s planned visit to the PA legislative body in Ramallah. Naveh says that the Likud (19 Knesset seats), Shas (17), National Union-Yisrael Beiteinu (7), National Religious Party (5), United Torah Judaism (5), Yisrael B\'Aliyah (4), and Gesher (3), as well as Minister Roni Milo (Center) and Tommy Lapid (Shinui) - a total of 62 MKs - are against Burg\'s trip. The Knesset presidium will debate the matter tomorrow.

The GSS, too, is against Burg visiting Ramallah, on security grounds. Israel Radio\'s news report last night did not dwell on this, however, preferring to begin the report by announcing, \"Criticism from both right and left of the GSS recommendation against Burg\'s visit to Ramallah.\" The report then went on to clarify that \"Likud MK Michael Eitan says that the GSS should not get involved in such political issues - although he himself plans to act to ensure that Burg not make the trip.\"

Prime Minister Sharon\'s diplomatic advisor Danny Ayalon flew to Cairo for a short visit today. He was to meet there with Osama el-Baz, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak\'s diplomatic advisor.
