Rebel fighters in Syria uploaded a video Sunday to Youtube, showing the takeover of a military enclosure in the Kalmun area, northwest of Damascus, and the capture of tanks and APCs.
Dozens of rebel fighters are seen crossing the fence into the position and advancing under the cover of dirt ramparts and assisting fire from heavy machine guns and snipers, toward the structures in the enclosure.
No meaningful resistance is recorded in the video and it appears that the Syrian soldiers had abandoned it. The rebels draped an Islamist flag on one of the tanks and drove it out of the enclosure.
Syrian trops are suffering from low morale lately after experiencing heavy losses, and due to a feeling that over time, the balance of power is shifting toward the rebels. Many prefer to defect to the rebels' ranks rather than be taken captive and be executed.
